Our boxes are almost all unpacked (just a few left!!! ok, maybe 7 or so, but still… getting much closer) :) And I finished setting up my sewing machine today so I know what I’ll be doing over the next few days (yay!). Also need to check in at my new work tomorrow… make sure I’m all good to go there and get some other odds and ends done now that we’re sort of almost settled (like getting new car registration and a new license and such…) :/ Oh, and here’s a picture of my new little nephew… just because he is crazy adorable. :) We did a little photo shoot the other day. He made it just in time to be a Halloween baby… I imagine he will probably either love or hate his birthday being on Halloween. I’m not sure how I’d feel about it. Until …

A (Mostly) Handmade Baby Shower

My sis’s baby shower turned out really fun! We wanted to go with something unique and not store bought… so my mom and I got to work :) Thank you to Pinterest, as always, for the endless inspiration. Theme: Nautical (Ahoy! It’s a Boy!) Colors: Blue and Orange Games: Baby Shower Bingo Sperm Toss Tournament Guess Em’s Belly Size (I’m sure there is a better name for this game… but whatevs) :) My favorite part: I’m so glad I found this note on Pinterest before I sent out the invites. Actually, there are a ton of them out there with slightly different wording, but I think it’s is such a cute idea! Especially for my sis — she’s a big reader. She was able to leave the party with a whole collection of children’s books, and each with meaning because they came from all of her friends and family. For the invites, I finally broke out my Cricut! I got it for Christmas and back then I was super excited to start using it… then it …

Rental Property: PROGRESS (Exterior)

Remember the before pictures??? This is my parents’ rental house that I’ll soon be living in. When I was home the other weekend, I got to stop by and see the progress. It’s definitely coming along nicely! :) Here are a few pictures of the progress around the exterior of the house. There used to be a huge tree out front. The tree was already removed when my parents got the house, but the driveway (and the garage) had been completely destroyed by the roots. Luckily, my dad is retired and has a tractor… and skills. They tore everything up, then extended the width of the driveway, adding a nice “brick” detailing along the edge and also extended the concrete around to the side door. Oh my goodness, don’t you think it turned out so nice!? I think so! Oh, and as you can see they cleaned up and painted the house!   In the back, they extended the concrete to make room for the puppy kennel. Right now, my dad is working on fencing in the …

TayloRx

Okay okay… I gotta take a quick minute and share my friend Taylor’s music video. She is one of the sweetest and smartest people I know (graduated in the top of our pharmacy class!)… she’s also beautiful and super talented and following her dreams in the music world. She just came out with her first music video. Check it out: Find more about Taylor here. So they packed up our house today! We’ll be living in a sea of boxes until next week when we’ll be living very minimally :/ The pups went to doggie daycare today while the packing guys were here. When we picked them up, they were separated from all the other dogs. The girl working said Zoe was a little grumpy with a few of the dogs. She said that she seems to choose the older, overweight dogs to be friends with and is grumpy with the rest of them. lol oh dear… my sweet little baby. I’m just crossing my fingers that she gets along with all of her new puppy …
