Maternity Panama Tee Dress + A Little Birth Story

We weren’t originally planning to have maternity photos taken, but I’m so glad we did! It’s just one of those memories that’ll be nice to have documented later. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I started taking weekly bump pictures, but that fizzled out pretty quickly once I forgot to take them for a week or two (in my mind, if I didn’t have every week, it wasn’t worth finishing… which probably wasn’t true, but whatevs… that’s how my brain worked at the time…). Pattern Testing: Blue Dot Patterns Coffeehouse Pant!

I first learned about Blue Dot Patterns back in 2015 when Melissa from Mahlica Designs invited me to participate in the Creative Sewing Challenge. Since that time, Diane has also come out with the Ally Skirt (which I love, but it came out right around the time I was working on my button up pencil skirt), and the Coffeehouse Pant (yes, that’s yours truly on the pattern page… ) :P I was lucky enough to test the pants back in September but had to hold out sharing them until they were released. Hahaha… okay so I follow quite a few blogs. Mostly sewing and fashion blogs… very inspirational on both ends. I’ve finally gotten back to reading them here and there and it seems lately the blog-sphere has been bombarded with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (on the fashion blog side). There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, and I’ve even saved a few items to my wishlist to see if they’re still in stock for after the “cardholder early access what-not week” (these leggings, this bra, and these booties)… BUT mostly I just look on there and think, ‘oh, what pattern could I use to make that’ etc, etc. So I’ve decided to do my own version of one of those posts, but instead share my picks of two sales going on right now in the sewing world! Okay, I’ll try to spare you the blabbering rant about how long it’s been… let’s just hope I remember what I’m doing here. Or who I am. It’s hard to know after you’ve been sucked into the abyss of wedding everything for so long. We’ve been back from the honeymoon for a couple of weeks now and I feel like I’m finally settling back in. Hello and happy November! Don’t even get me started on how it is almost Thanksgiving already ;) So I have a few other things I need to post, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share my most recent pattern testing experience… this time with Alina Design Sewing | Design Co. :) While still in the midst of searching for the perfect tee dress pattern since I made my last one (albeit not looking all THAT hard) ;) I thankfully got the email announcing a tester call for Alina’s newest release, the Panama Tee Dress! It came at the prefect time, too.
