About Me

Hi! My name is Kyla. I’m a pharmacist, amateur seamstress (sewist? fabric hoarder? whatever you want to call me), and animal lover. I spend my free time hanging out with family & friends, running (or, at least thinking about how I should be running), reading, knitting, sewing… I love just about anything DIY and experimenting in the kitchen. I am left-handed and half Dutch. I am fluent in American English (most of the time) and very rusty in Spanish and Italian.

That’s Danny, the guy in my life. And these are our little furbabies:

Finn is a 5-year old big clumsy black lab/hound mix and Zoe is 7-year old crazy cuddly husky mix. Read their adoption stories here.

Life by Ky is mostly a sewing blog but really just a collection of things I find interesting enough to write down (as you may notice, I’m usually easily entertained). Blogging has also become a nice way for me to keep track of my crafting and take a step into the awesome online sewing community. I also love knowing that the blog will be here to remember things for me when I am too old or forgetful to remember them on my own.

I hope you find a little something to enjoy in this tiny corner of the interwebs! Thanks for stopping by!

Do you remember where you found the MTV Mana symbols you used for the mugs?

Could you tell me how you made the dwarf beards? We are dressing up as the seven dwarfs for Halloween and I’m using your hat template☺

    Thank you

    • The beards weren’t handmade, unfortunately… we thought about making them with yarn, etc. but one of my coworkers at the time found those ones online and they weren’t very expensive at all so we went that way :)
