Life Updates, a Greenwood Tank, & a Little(!) Halloween Progress

Hi!! So I have a few super fun life updates!!.. Okay, so they aren’t updates from my life… but they are happening around me so I think it counts! First, my big sis is going to be my new neighbor! They just bought the house next door to us! Well, I should say, their offer was accepted for the house but still I’m super excited for them! And for me that they will be so close! It’ll be just like when we were growing up and I know that she just couldn’t get enough of having me around. ;P Also have I mentioned that my BFF (the one I made the Sutton Blouse for) recently got engaged!?! Super excited to start helping with wedding plans :) See… some people dread that part. But planning is my jam. I tend to spend as much more :/ time planning out my sewing than actually sewing but it’s a toss up which part of the process I actually get more enjoyment out of. Which is why I’m also excited about my new …

Winter Handmade Gift Exchange & Sunday Sew Love: 7 December

For today’s Blogmas14 post (topic: DIY Christmas Present), here is my DIY contribution to the Winter Handmade Gift Exchange from Craftaholics Anonymous. The package totally looked like that (above… so pretty, right!?) on my way to the post office. You would think having just moved I would’ve had a million and a half boxes sitting around to use for mailing, but we did a fantastic job of piling all of our boxes into the trailer and having my dad haul them off! So anywhoo… I got to the post office with no box – it ALMOST fit in the small size priority box… I mean it was so close! Ugh. So I resorted to tossing the bow to make it fit… and it still didn’t fit! At that point I frustratingly stuffed the sad little bow-less box into a big envelope. Thinking back, the bow probably would have fit in the envelope. Hmm… next time :) Either way, that’s what it was supposed to look like :)   Find more DIY Christmas Presents at the …

The Hop is Rampant!

All that comes to mind right now when I read that title is Ebola. Like “The Hop” is a crazy form of haemorrhagic fever. Hmm… annnnyway, on to more lighthearted things… Thanks so much to Teresa at NavyBlueThreads for the shout out!!! She is really awesome. I’m serious. If you haven’t gotten a chance to say hi to her yet, you should. She is super talented and she always seems really nice and genuine! The blog hop is a way for people to get to know their fellow bloggers a little better. So here you have it… here are my answers to the hop: Why do I write? Writing is such a great outlet! To me, writing is a way to sift through all of the thoughts and stories in my head and it’s also a great way to share projects that I’m working on not only for you but for me too! I rarely make anything more than once, but when I do I always feel the need to look back and see how I did …

Working from Home & Undecided

Took a day off work today to work from home :/ Most days, it’s just too crazy at work to actually get anything important done… of course I get plenty done, but it’s the balance of what is urgent/not urgent and important/not important that they always talk about in time management. Sometimes I get too bogged down with the small stuff that is urgent but not important. These things are easy to get done and push through, but they’re not necessarily what I should be dedicating my time to. BUT, it always seems that these things are of utmost importance to other people, so they push you to get them done. Well some days… like today… I just have to run away from the small stuff to be able to focus on the bigger, more important stuff… as is the case today with P&T (Pharmacy & Therapeutics… it’s the committee I run that determines what we add to the formulary, what we take off, approval of authorized drug lists for the clinic, contract compliance and …

MakeLifeRx

Blog Update! As I mentioned somewhere is the midst of this ginormous post… I’m ready for a change… something simpler… and a blog name that’s less attached to a particular phase of my life. Hence, MakeLifeRx! Saying goodbye to FINZO 43P… FINZO stood for Finn & Zoe… my beloved fur babies. And 43P is the Air Force Specialty Code for pharmacists. As I move into the next phase of my life and away from the Air Force in a few months, I wanted something that would be a little more flexible. Plus, the more I look at FINZO 43P, the more I feel like I should have used it as a password rather than a blog name. Granted, now that I’ve said that, I will definitely not be using it as a password, but you get my drift! It’s meant to represent my journey into making life what I want it to be. A prescription for the good life, if you will (or maybe you won’t… lol… that sounds pretty lame, I know). Along with that, …
