Free PDF Adopt Me Vest Sewing Pattern! +My Favorite Non-Profit Orgs

First things first! I created a PDF sewing pattern! This one has been a long time coming. And by that I mean I’ve been lazy and didn’t get around to making it until I was asked by BDAR a few weeks ago for input on making adopt me vests. I’ve made them a few batches of vests in the past, but of course they get lost or worn out over time, so they were looking to make some more. Actually, they are thinking of having a fabric drive and sewing party to make adopt me vests! Is that not the best idea ever!? It’s like an old-school LAN party… but with sewing machines instead of computers! And all for a good cause. Love it! So anywhoo… I finally got around to putting this together. The pattern is free, of course, but if you use it or find any benefit to it, please consider donating any amount to Black Dog Animal Rescue, the org the pattern was created for, or any local animal rescue of your …

Love Is…

Some days I just want to punch Danny in the face. Other days… he shows me what love is. In this case, love is regularly pulling my nasty hair out of the drain. We’ll set aside the fact that he used my crochet hook this time to do so… but really. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.  :) Okay, okay… maybe it’s just him fed up with the fact that I don’t do it… :/ But either way, he does it and doesn’t bug me about it. And that’s awesome in my book. OH… and love is also my new bathing suit. We’ll just remember this as the time a blogger got me to buy something. I can’t for the life of me remember who’s blog it was, but she was wearing this suit and I almost instantly went on and bought it. Not modeling it for you… but you get the drift… so adorable! Can’t wait to get back to California so I can actually get some use out of it! …

Thankfuls continued… blues, friends, patients with patience, bread, and boyfriend

As always… a lot to catch up on… 5 November – I am thankful for my blues… and the fact that I only wear them once a week. 6 November – I am thankful for my friends… near and far… new and old. They are the glue in my ever-changing life. They keep me sane even if I haven’t talked to them for a while. Just knowing they are there for me can get me though anything. 7 November – I am thankful for the patients at work who genuinely say “Oh, that’s all!?” when I tell them they are going to have a 30-minute wait time for their prescription (pretty standard)… also the ones who call their refills in early and those who smile when they come to the pick-up window… it is you wonderful, patient and understanding people that (who?) make my days brighter :) – oh, grammar, sometimes you baffle me 8 November – I am thankful for the Great Harvest Bread Company and their amazing pumpkin chocolate chip muffins… so fresh and warm at 0630… and their free slices …

Love Always

Found out some awesome news yesterday at work… one of our volunteers, who is 73 years old, has plans to get married later in the year. I just thought that was the sweetest thing. You never know when love will find you. They still had to take the test at her church and are waiting to hear back the results (of which he seemed a little uncertain) but he was also just so happy, you couldn’t help but let his news brighten your day!
