August Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix #3 – The time I almost kept everything! My stylist this time, Arteresa, really got me! I loved the colors and simplicity of this fix. See also my first and second fixes. Collective Consepts Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse | $ 54 | Status: Going back Stitch fix seems to think I need a lot of sleeveless blouses; I’ve gotten one in every box so far. It’s a really nice top, but it didn’t excite me enough to keep, and the armholes were too big. Danny’s take on this one was “not enough pizzazz” lol. Sold Design Lab Sara Bootcut Jean | $118 | Status: Going back What is it about Stitch Fix and their ability to find me perfect-fitting jeans!? If you can’t tell from the picture, these are actually “pull-on” jeans… almost like jeggings; they only have a button in the front, no zipper. They are super comfortable and actually the perfect length (she found me a 34″ inseam that actually seemed a little longer than 34″). If it wasn’t for the …

Not funny!!!

So I got an email from United Blood Services the other day saying my blood type is currently in high demand. They probably say that to everyone, but I decided to take it as a sign, and went on to make an appointment. When I first moved to Wyoming, I started giving blood on a regular basis. They have a great facility here and they make it super easy to schedule your appointment, go in, and get on your way (with cookies!). Then I started selling my plasma (for a short time) – also a nice facility in the area – but that just wasn’t the same. Then after going to Belize, I had to put it all on hold for a while – it’s one of those travel areas where once you get back they make you wait a year in case you are harboring something in your blood. I’m so glad to get back to it though! I signed up to give whole blood but they needed plasma most, so that’s what I gave today. Give me a …

The week I started PiYo over… twice…

I said I would do PiYo. I never said how long it would take me or how many times I would have to try before I succeed ;) I joined a challenge group because I thought it would be motivating. It was motivating… but maybe I just wasn’t mentally ready… or maybe it’s the 10-13 hour workdays finally weighing down on me… or maybe I’m just lazy lol I don’t know. I just know that I’m going to keep trying… keep starting over until it sticks. I’ll keep you posted on my progress, though. I’m convinced I’m going to finish the whole thing (plus, it’s on my 30 before 30 list… which means I have to do it, right!?). Either way, even if I keep starting over, at least I’m still getting the workouts in! The only problem I have with it so far is how hard they push Shakeology. I get it – healthiest shake in the world. But I’m still not on board with the whole ‘you have to drink this or you’re never going to …

3rd Trimester Gift Box

I had big plans to make/sew stuff for this box… but then I got lazy (or didn’t have time… etc… I’m afraid I have no good excuses). :/ Contents: Bravado! nursing bra (the name makes it sound very exciting… I just liked the pink zebra print) A mini massager (I was assuming she would need this by now, but apparently her pregnancy has been pretty low key on the sickness/pain/etc. front) Completely adorable top from ASOS (they sent the wrong size… hopefully it still fits okay) Knit black maternity skirt from H&M Now, there are a couple of stories behind this box. At first, all I’d planned for was the bra, massager, something handmade, and bath salts. I was going for the relaxing end of pregnancy stuff. But when the bath salts came in the mail (I ordered everything from Amazon), the container was open and the bath salts had infiltrated the entire box :/ Bad part was, the nice relaxing lavender chamomile scent smelled almost exactly like kitty litter. To me, anyway. And I’m pretty sure Sissy deals with enough …
