Sunday Sew Love: 4 January

First up… new year, new look for the blog! What do you think? I’m still working on it, but I love how simple and organized it is. And the home page lets me play around a bunch with formatting without getting into coding, which is wonderful because as much as I’d love to learn it, it’s definitely not on my priority list :) Also, here’s my lifebyky.com Bloglovin page if you’d like to follow along (I’d love to have you!): Follow my blog with Bloglovin I didn’t realize back when I switched over from the worpress page that it made a new page on Bloglovin. They both get the updates, though, so I suppose it doesn’t matter too much. So here we are… new year, new makes! I love these tops, and I really couldn’t get enough of Horatio the stuffed horse. Pretty sure I would have gone ca-raaazy over that as a kid! Bring It On, 2015!

PiYo + Insanity + Chalean Extreme + POP Pilates + Planks Here’s my attempt at not getting bored in my workouts this year. If you are also a collector of unfinished Beachbody workout programs, please feel free to join me! :) I’m not buying any more workout programs this year… and I’m not joining the gym that steals all of my money when I don’t show up. Nope. Not happening! :) Hopefully I’ll be throwing in some running, too. We shall see… I included a 30-day plank challenge for January because, well, I have no core. It was taken from HERE (adjusted slightly to fit the schedule). And all of the POP Pilates workouts can be found HERE (I incorporated days 1-6 and 8 of her beginner’s calendar, in order). I’m off to start this beautiful year off right with INSANITY! :) Wishing you the best of luck in the new year, no matter what your goals/resolutions/wishes/dreams are! Bring it on, 2015! I’m pretty sure you are going to be awesome! Until next time,

Christmas Crafting 2014

Okay, so I didn’t go as all out as I did last year (see part 1 and part 2), but I also ran behind and didn’t get to finish one of the things I was working on. I made it to Christmas Eve thinking I could still finish and finally made the decision to put it off and enjoy my time so I let my sis know part of her gift would have to come later. Crafting should never be stressful :) So here are the ones I did finish in time: #1. Foldover Clutch For my BFF! Made using this tutorial from Skirt As Top that I’ve been wanting to try, and I also followed the leather recommendations from you & mie with my faux leather. My outer fabrics were from Joann’s from a splurge I had before leaving Cheyenne :/ and the lining was from my stash.   I used these gift tags this year… love them! #2. Double-Sided Infinity Scarf This I made as part of my gift for the Great Christmas Gift Exchange, put on by …

Sunday Sew Love: 28 December

Today marks my last Sunday Sew Love post of the year! Crazy! I also can’t believe I’ve kept up with this so long! It’s really fun though so I hope someone other than me enjoys these posts too :) And thank you all for so much inspirational sewing!! Top 5 of 2014

Top 5 Hits! Aztec Sweater | Definitely the most worn, but that could be because I made it in January :) It’s actually a major miss when it comes to construction and what not, but it was self-drafted and only my second me-made garment for myself so I just love it despite all of its flaws! B is for Boden Maya Maxi | I’ve worn this one a few times and still love it. I’m excited to continue this self-imposed brand inspiration sewing challenge in the new year! :) Colors Quiet Book | By far my best and favorite sewn gift of the year! Salme Vegas Blazer | My first outerwear. I foresee this being worn a lot… but we’ll have to wait and see :) Adopt Me Vest Sewing Pattern | Not a sewing make… but it’s my first pattern! I hope it gets used by someone… someday! lol Top 5 Misses! Pants to Shorts Refashion | I love that I made these from Danny’s pants and that they were my first pair of shorts, but …
