MakeLifeRx

Blog Update! AsΒ I mentioned somewhere is the midst of this ginormous post… I’m ready for a change… something simpler… and a blog name that’s less attached to a particular phase of my life. Hence, MakeLifeRx! Saying goodbye to FINZO 43P… FINZO stood for Finn & Zoe… my beloved fur babies. And 43P is the Air Force Specialty Code for pharmacists. As I move into the next phase of my life and away from the Air Force in a few months, I wanted something that would be a little more flexible. Plus, the more I look at FINZO 43P, the more I feel like I should have used it as a password rather than a blog name. Granted, now that I’ve said that, I will definitely not be using it as a password, but you get my drift! It’s meant to represent my journey into making life what I want it to be. A prescription for the good life, if you will (or maybe you won’t… lol… that sounds pretty lame, I know). Along with that, …

Easy Walk Harness Padding

The pups love to go for walks. And when I say love I mean LOVE with a capital everything and rawhides on top. We use a halti collarΒ withΒ Zoe. She’s a pro when she has it on. Finn on the other hand… we’re still working on. He chewed his way through his halti twice, but still pulls too much for just his regular collar. Β So… we got him an Easy Walk harness. It has completely changed the way he walks. And it’s perfectly safe… except last time… we went for a really long walk with him and it rubbed under his little arm so much that he ended up with a bloody armpit and then a scab that he wouldn’t stop scratching at. We had to wait a while to go for another walk and watch it to make sure he was healing. SO… here’s my solution! Fleece pup harness padding! It was only rubbing his skin on the bottom strap… so I cut a rectangular piece of fleece the length of that strap, folded it …

Finn’s Bow Tie

Danny thought Finn needed a bow tie. After all, he is a very handsome boy. Here’s how it turned out: (SP18) He seemed pretty happy with it until he started shaking and scratching to get it off. Oh well… at least he looked adorable for a couple minutes. :) Again, Zoe was not impressed. Oh, and I started Pure Barre today… wow… there’s nothing like a good reminder of how absolutely non-flexible I am to get me going in the morning. Definitely not for beginners. But it was great. I think my legs are still shaking. Here’s to a strong, flexible year to come! :)

Happy New Year!

HAPPY beginning of 2014! 2013 was a great year! So many things happened I could never recount them all but here are a few notables: Moved to a new place (I can’t believe we’ve almost lived here a year already!) Adopted Finn (amazing decision…. I couldn’t imagine my life without him) Went to BOMO (Biomedical Officer Management Orientation) in San Antonio Got my new car! (I’m still absolutely in love with the thing) Visited a new country (Belize) Completed my 2nd half-marathon Crossed a few items off the Cheyenne Bucket List (which I need to write down one of these days), including the Manitou Incline, high tea at the Nagle Warren Mansion, Wild Animal Sanctuary, and Red Rocks Park Went to Trina & Danh’s wedding (and congratulated Kendra & Adam from afar)! Also said goodbye to a couple of people who’s lives were cut way too short – Lacy, a Phi Delta Chi brother and my cousin John. Here’s to cherishing the memories of those we’ve lost, to loving and enjoying the time we have …
