Free PDF Adopt Me Vest Sewing Pattern! +My Favorite Non-Profit Orgs

First things first! I created a PDF sewing pattern! This one has been a long time coming. And by that I mean I’ve been lazy and didn’t get around to making it until I was asked by BDAR a few weeks ago for input on making adopt me vests. I’ve made them a few batches of vests in the past, but of course they get lost or worn out over time, so they were looking to make some more. Actually, they are thinking of having a fabric drive and sewing party to make adopt me vests! Is that not the best idea ever!? It’s like an old-school LAN party… but with sewing machines instead of computers! And all for a good cause. Love it! So anywhoo… I finally got around to putting this together. The pattern is free, of course, but if you use it or find any benefit to it, please consider donating any amount to Black Dog Animal Rescue, the org the pattern was created for, or any local animal rescue of your …

Winter Fashion – Stitch Fix Style

Hello Hello! So, normally I only get my fixes once a month but for some reason, they scheduled this one only 2 weeks after my last fix. I could have gone in and changed it, but decided to go ahead with it. Plus it turned out to be perfect timing for this post, so all is well in the end :) I mean, let’s face it… I really don’t have fashion sense much less any fashion advice to share. Other than sharing my sewing creations, Stitch Fix is about fashion-y as it gets around here! So here’s what I got in my latest box: I was very mixed about this box. It was a close call between keeping everything and keeping nothing. :/ And sorry, no try-ons this time around. I love Stitch Fix reviews that show how the clothes fit, but it just didn’t happen today. Look by M Prescott Solid Fringe Detail Wrap Scarf | $32 | Status: Sent back Super soft, big, and comfy! Although the color is really nice (a light …

Salme Vegas Blazer

I downloaded the Salme Cropped Blazer pattern back in June when I made my Minna blouse but didn’t get around to making it till now. The Monthly Stitch outerwear challenge this month was the perfect motivation :) And it was good timing… it was something fun to wear in Vegas! We went for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon this past weekend and had sooo much fun (even though we were sore and hobbling around half the time we were there)!   I found this stretch herringbone suiting fabric when it was on sale at Mood. It reminded me of this one, although there was no way I was going to attempt a lining like she did. :) I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with the mitered corners. I absolutely did mine incorrectly… lol I also did the shoulders incorrectly, but I was having one of those moments. I realized I was just not going to understand the directions no matter how many times I read them over so I just did …

A (Mostly) Handmade Baby Shower

My sis’s baby shower turned out really fun! We wanted to go with something unique and not store bought… so my mom and I got to work :) Thank you to Pinterest, as always, for the endless inspiration. Theme: Nautical (Ahoy! It’s a Boy!) Colors: Blue and Orange Games: Baby Shower Bingo Sperm Toss Tournament Guess Em’s Belly Size (I’m sure there is a better name for this game… but whatevs) :) My favorite part: I’m so glad I found this note on Pinterest before I sent out the invites. Actually, there are a ton of them out there with slightly different wording, but I think it’s is such a cute idea! Especially for my sis — she’s a big reader. She was able to leave the party with a whole collection of children’s books, and each with meaning because they came from all of her friends and family. For the invites, I finally broke out my Cricut! I got it for Christmas and back then I was super excited to start using it… then it …

30 before 30

These lists are everywhere! I love reading them! And if you know me at all… you know I also LOVE making lists. I love the accomplished feeling of crossing something off a list. So considering I’m on the road to 30… I had to jump on the bandwagon and make my own 30 before 30 list before it’s too late. :) I tried to avoid the abstract ones like ‘see the world’ and ‘become a better person’ but instead tried to find things that I may actually be able to accomplish… :) If nothing else, I know I’ll have fun along the way. Hop over to my 30 before 30 page to follow my progress over the next 11 1/2 months… and let me know if you’d like to join me in any of these endeavors! 1  |  Grow something edible. 2  |  Learn to cold brew coffee. 3  |  Visit a new state. 4  |  Learn how to play chess. 5  |  Take a class. 6  |  Create a PDF sewing pattern. 7 …
