HAPPY beginning of 2014! 2013 was a great year! So many things happened I could never recount them all but here are a few notables: Moved to a new place (I can’t believe we’ve almost lived here a year already!) Adopted Finn (amazing decision…. I couldn’t imagine my life without him) Went to BOMO (Biomedical Officer Management Orientation) in San Antonio Got my new car! (I’m still absolutely in love with the thing) Visited a new country (Belize) Completed my 2nd half-marathon Crossed a few items off the Cheyenne Bucket List (which I need to write down one of these days), including the Manitou Incline, high tea at the Nagle Warren Mansion, Wild Animal Sanctuary, and Red Rocks Park Went to Trina & Danh’s wedding (and congratulated Kendra & Adam from afar)! Also said goodbye to a couple of people who’s lives were cut way too short – Lacy, a Phi Delta Chi brother and my cousin John. Here’s to cherishing the memories of those we’ve lost, to loving and enjoying the time we have …

Dog Blog

Probably a little more often than we should and/or more often than I would normally like to admit to people — Danny and I talk in dog language. We have entire conversations some days without saying a word to each other. We talk for our dogs. They have conversations. Many days they talk more than we do ;) Sometimes I have to scold Finn for using bad language and Zoe always comes off as the little princess who believes the world revolves around her (which I’m about 100% sure is absolutely true… for example, Zoe said today that she wants to move to Beverly Hills and live in a house with a big gate with a “Z” on it). But anyway, Danny always talks in his Zoe voice about her Dog Blog (she seems to think she has one and that it’s very popular). So, short story long… I couldn’t help but find this actual dog blog absolutely adorable. Ellie is a BDAR alum — recently adopted into her forever home — and she’ll tell …

Cloudee

So we said we weren’t going to foster anymore – mostly because we rent and the pet portion of our lease says 2 is the limit – but also because the two pups are a handful as it is. And they aren’t very social… we really need to work on their socialization skills. But after looking at Cloudee’s little pup face it was hard to do anything except say, “we’ll take him!” So we did. And it was wonderful. Finn and Zoe weren’t sure what to do with him at first. Finn would just run away scared and Zoe just kept sniffing him like she couldn’t figure out what he was. They finally warmed up to him the day before I dropped him off with his forever family – it was adorable. Zoe was really sweet and gentle when she started to play with him, and whenever Finn would start to play too rough, Zoe would intervene. Too cute. I think they really liked their little friend.
