PiYo Pre-Challenge

I like going to the gym. But I love Beachbody and similar workout programs. If I can save 30 minutes of driving/changing at the gym/etc. while getting just as awesome of a workout (or better!) at home, I’m all for it. Plus, after a while you get attached to the people in the videos which makes it even more fun (…or is that just me!?). Well, problem is… I still have trouble getting myself to do the videos sometimes. I go through phases… active/motivated phases and slumps :/ Because of that, Danny calls me a collector. A collector of workout videos and programs :) I get motivated… get a new program… then slump… and the trend continues! Currently in my possession I have the following, plus a few other randoms: Chalean Extreme Yoga Booty Ballet Live (now it seems they call it Yoga Booty Ballet Ab&Butt makeover) Pure Barre Insanity Peak Fit System Those are listed from my most to least favorite… although Yoga Booty Ballet and Pure Barre  probably tie for second. I like …

Throwback Thursday: Mouse Edition

It’s been confirmed. We have a mouse. Or mice… not really sure yet. How do I know? Well… that answer is three-fold. For #1 I give you Zoe the hunter: She’s not very good at it – but she tries. And yes, on a side note, if you need any kind of electronic cord, just ask me. I have them all. These were all stacked in that closet; it’s no wonder the little guy thought it would be a decent place to hide. #2. Found a little pile of torn up yarn. And it wasn’t torn up like the puppies tear up yarn sometimes. It was in little pieces made into a nice little mouse bed. :/ #3. Yesterday morning, I put my foot in my boot only to find there was already something in it. Shook it out only to have a bunch of tiny pieces of dog food fly all over. Needless to say, Finn was excited… me, not so much. This brought me back to the last time I had a mouse experience… …

Monochromatic Polly Top

When I was younger, my favorite bathing suit was zebra print and hot pink; along with that, I still have a furry zebra print blanket in my living room. I guess I have a soft spot for the pattern. :) At this point in my life, I wouldn’t normally look for something zebra print to actually wear, but as soon as I read the theme of the Monthly Stitch July challenge… I knew I’d found a use for the zebra print fabric I’ve had lying around since Christmas.   Pattern used: By Hand London – Polly Top In an effort to stick with my Summer Stashbust plan and not buy any new fabric until September… the black fabric came from another one of Danny’s ripped pairs of work pants. :) Because I had to cut it from two pieces, I just pieced them together in the middle. The grain is off… but it’s black… it goes together well enough…right!? :) For some reason when I cut fabric, I seem to forget that I’m trying to …

The Versatile Blogger Award

It’s like the email chain letter of the blogging world! But it’s a fun one because it brings bloggers together and lets you share awesome people you’ve stumbled across in the interwebs! Thank you so much to Teresa at NavyBlueThreads for the nomination! I love her sewing! She’s fairly new to it as well, but really inspiring!    So here are the rules of the award for anyone who chooses to accept the nomination: Thank the person who nominated you and create a link back to their blog. Share 7 things about yourself. Nominate 15 other versatile bloggers. Tell the bloggers that you nominated them. Hmm… so here are 7 things about me: I’m allergic to bee stings. I got stung A LOT as a child, and my reactions seemed to get worse every time. I rarely remember to carry my EpiPen with me. :/ I LOVE coffee, but ALWAYS leave my coffee cup sitting around somewhere and end up re-heating it at least three times before I finish it. I am a sugar addict… constantly trying …

Handmade Gift Exchange, Part 2

Can I just begin by saying how adorable this packaging is… haha “Dill with it!” :)   Julie, my handmade gift exchange partner, sent me some awesome stuff! Here’s what the note said: “Enclosed are a flower that will never die and a jar of stars. When you need a pick-me-up, shake the jar and pick a star. Pinch it flat and find the arrow. Pull out the flap and unravel the star for a special message. Enjoy!”   This flower will be making its home on my desk. And of course I was too curious – I had to open at least one of the stars – and luckily figured out how to fold it back up after :) This is such an adorable and thoughtful gift. Thank you, Julie!
