Okay okay… I gotta take a quick minute and share my friend Taylor’s music video. She is one of the sweetest and smartest people I know (graduated in the top of our pharmacy class!)… she’s also beautiful and super talented and following her dreams in the music world. She just came out with her first music video. Check it out: Find more about Taylor here. So they packed up our house today! We’ll be living in a sea of boxes until next week when we’ll be living very minimally :/ The pups went to doggie daycare today while the packing guys were here. When we picked them up, they were separated from all the other dogs. The girl working said Zoe was a little grumpy with a few of the dogs. She said that she seems to choose the older, overweight dogs to be friends with and is grumpy with the rest of them. lol oh dear… my sweet little baby. I’m just crossing my fingers that she gets along with all of her new puppy …

I’m turning 29! What!?!

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday! I’m not sure what happened there. I was at work the other day discussing my/our birthday (me, one of my techs, and one of our volunteers all have a June 29th birthday… best day ever to be born!)… and very nonchalantly I mentioned something along the lines of “I can’t believe I’m turning 28!” Eeeek! I thought it would at least be a little bit longer until I genuinely started forgetting my own age. But apparently it’s happening… now! I got home that day and mentioned something about it to Danny. He then proceeded to break the news to me, although not all that gently. I am, in fact, turning 29. It’s awesome nonetheless. I love my b-day no matter what number is associated with it (ask me about that in 11 years… that opinion may change…). But I can’t even begin to say how excited I am about 29. It’s going to be a big year. Moving back to California… starting a new job… moving into a home with …

So as you may or may not know, I was supposed to be on a ship right now traveling around Central America on my humanitarian deployment… but that got officially cancelled almost a month ago. And what have I done since then? I really couldn’t tell you! Time has been flying by like crazy! Work has been insane and I constantly feel like I am just trying to keep my head above water. One thing I know is that I finally retired my little ’96 Nissan for a new-to-me ’13 Ford Edge, and I am loving it! I loved my little pink car, but it was time to move on. And although I am now getting half the MPG I was before (filled up my new car for the first time this week and it was painful watching the $$ go up and up…), but it’s alright. It’s worth it for the incredible jump in safety and comfort I now have. Anyway, what else is new?! Danny and I decided to adopt Finn, our 7th …

Moving Day One

New Year. New Home. We signed a lease for our new home last week and today I’m bringing my first load of stuff over to the new house. It’s your pretty typical townhouse… not my ideal home considering I’m not a big fan of new housing developments where everything looks exactly the same… but it’s not like we’re buying the place. And I’m still super excited… it’s going to be so much nicer than where we are now — my favorite things: the fact that it has a garage (no more digging my car out of the snow in the mornings!), the garbage disposal, and the water filter/ice maker in the fridge :) It’s the little things. Now if they can get the fence guy out to finish the backyard for Zoe soon, it will be even more wonderful (right now the back yard is only half-way fenced in… a little too easy for my escape artist pup). It’s a little farther from work, but hoping that it’s all worth it. :) Plus we’ve been …
