PiYo Week 2 Recap & CFD Clean-Up

Under normal circumstances, I really am a fairly healthy eater. Not super healthy all the time for sure, but not too bad. BUT, for some reason whenever I attempt to follow a food plan of any kind (for instance the PiYo food plan…) all of a sudden my brain says to me, “don’t you tell me what to eat… bring on the brownies for dinner!” :/ So we won’t get into how my food plan has been going. Tomorrow is always a new day :) Side note: you must try this recipe for White Chicken Chili… it’s amazing, and I’m pretty sure at least semi-healthy. I made it last week, not this week… again… not talking about what I ate this week. :/ Also missed two of my PiYo workouts this week… and didn’t run at all. :/ So maybe not the best week ever… but I did get my replacement disc so I was able to do the Upper Body workout. AND… I cleaned up the stands at Frontier Days three days this week. Sunday was …

30 before 30

These lists are everywhere! I love reading them! And if you know me at all… you know I also LOVE making lists. I love the accomplished feeling of crossing something off a list. So considering I’m on the road to 30… I had to jump on the bandwagon and make my own 30 before 30 list before it’s too late. :) I tried to avoid the abstract ones like ‘see the world’ and ‘become a better person’ but instead tried to find things that I may actually be able to accomplish… :) If nothing else, I know I’ll have fun along the way. Hop over to my 30 before 30 page to follow my progress over the next 11 1/2 months… and let me know if you’d like to join me in any of these endeavors! 1  |  Grow something edible. 2  |  Learn to cold brew coffee. 3  |  Visit a new state. 4  |  Learn how to play chess. 5  |  Take a class. 6  |  Create a PDF sewing pattern. 7 …

Throwback Thursday: Mouse Edition

It’s been confirmed. We have a mouse. Or mice… not really sure yet. How do I know? Well… that answer is three-fold. For #1 I give you Zoe the hunter: She’s not very good at it – but she tries. And yes, on a side note, if you need any kind of electronic cord, just ask me. I have them all. These were all stacked in that closet; it’s no wonder the little guy thought it would be a decent place to hide. #2. Found a little pile of torn up yarn. And it wasn’t torn up like the puppies tear up yarn sometimes. It was in little pieces made into a nice little mouse bed. :/ #3. Yesterday morning, I put my foot in my boot only to find there was already something in it. Shook it out only to have a bunch of tiny pieces of dog food fly all over. Needless to say, Finn was excited… me, not so much. This brought me back to the last time I had a mouse experience… …

Camping With Pups & Lessons Learned

For my birthday this year, we went camping out at Curt Gowdy State Park. I really love that place! We’ve been accumulating camping gear for a while now, but haven’t actually made a trek until now. So it was our first experience camping together AND our first time camping with the pups. Lesson learned #1 – If you’re going to camp in Wyoming, where strong wind is the most common type of weather… make sure you don’t forget the tent stakes! Luckily, we weren’t too far out (that’s why we chose Curt Gowdy for our first trip… not too far from home if we needed anything or had any puppy emergencies)… so I ran home to get the stakes while Danny placed heavy objects on the tent to keep it from flying away and sat with the pups (and got sunburned). As soon as we started setting up… all Finn wanted to do was help… Zoe not so much. She was content sunbathing in the grass :)    Lesson learned #2 – pups WILL get themselves tangled …

I’m turning 29! What!?!

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday! I’m not sure what happened there. I was at work the other day discussing my/our birthday (me, one of my techs, and one of our volunteers all have a June 29th birthday… best day ever to be born!)… and very nonchalantly I mentioned something along the lines of “I can’t believe I’m turning 28!” Eeeek! I thought it would at least be a little bit longer until I genuinely started forgetting my own age. But apparently it’s happening… now! I got home that day and mentioned something about it to Danny. He then proceeded to break the news to me, although not all that gently. I am, in fact, turning 29. It’s awesome nonetheless. I love my b-day no matter what number is associated with it (ask me about that in 11 years… that opinion may change…). But I can’t even begin to say how excited I am about 29. It’s going to be a big year. Moving back to California… starting a new job… moving into a home with …
