Our boxes are almost all unpacked (just a few left!!! ok, maybe 7 or so, but still… getting much closer) :) And I finished setting up my sewing machine today so I know what I’ll be doing over the next few days (yay!). Also need to check in at my new work tomorrow… make sure I’m all good to go there and get some other odds and ends done now that we’re sort of almost settled (like getting new car registration and a new license and such…) :/ Oh, and here’s a picture of my new little nephew… just because he is crazy adorable. :) We did a little photo shoot the other day. He made it just in time to be a Halloween baby… I imagine he will probably either love or hate his birthday being on Halloween. I’m not sure how I’d feel about it. Until …

I scheduled this post on Thursday because by the time this it goes live I will be in California!!! (and without internet for a few days). As you read this I am probably unpacking boxes galore! yay! So anyway, don’t you just love, love, love Teresa’s Megan dress. I kinda really want to steal it ;) And Fiona gave me a good reminder that we can and should sew basics sometimes. This Gabriola turned out gorgeous and of course I had to post Ginger’s Ginger jeans! I did something bad… I ordered the denim kit! I also ordered some cheaper stuff to practice with, but for some reason Heather has me believing that making jeans is a possibility for me, so we’ll see how that goes… :) Until next time,

Buttons, pleats, and pockets galore! I love everything about the post from sew a straight line. She made 3 items from the Perfect Pattern Parcel and they turned out great! I definitely want to try out Merrick’s tutorial for her pleated dress. It looks so comfy and perfect for so many occasions. Hers was one of the first blogs I started following after digging through Pinterest for sewing tutorials. She has since started a series “DIY Friday” with tutorials every week… love! The Lola dress look super comfy and I’ve been looking for a good button up shirt… Butterick 5526 might just be the one to try! Until next time,

Also learned that Love at First Stitch is now available to order in the U.S. I will definitely be purchasing as soon as we’re in the new house… and/or putting it on my Christmas list :) we’ll see… Only 2 more weeks in Wyoming! Said goodbye to our stuff this week! See you on the flipside, boxes! :) The above picture plus an air mattress is the extent of our furniture right now :/ Finn was very  upset about the whole situation… but as you can see Zoe …

A (Mostly) Handmade Baby Shower

My sis’s baby shower turned out really fun! We wanted to go with something unique and not store bought… so my mom and I got to work :) Thank you to Pinterest, as always, for the endless inspiration. Theme: Nautical (Ahoy! It’s a Boy!) Colors: Blue and Orange Games: Baby Shower Bingo Sperm Toss Tournament Guess Em’s Belly Size (I’m sure there is a better name for this game… but whatevs) :) My favorite part: I’m so glad I found this note on Pinterest before I sent out the invites. Actually, there are a ton of them out there with slightly different wording, but I think it’s is such a cute idea! Especially for my sis — she’s a big reader. She was able to leave the party with a whole collection of children’s books, and each with meaning because they came from all of her friends and family. For the invites, I finally broke out my Cricut! I got it for Christmas and back then I was super excited to start using it… then it …
