Locked

Had a moment today. It was one of those moments when you realize you’ve completely lost your mind. I went through my entire day thinking nothing was out of the ordinary. A few times I thought it was Friday, but other than that, it went along pretty smooth. I was finishing up a few things at the end of the day, so everyone else had gone home. I cleaned up my stuff, logged off my computer, and walked to the door only to realize I didn’t have my keys. I searched the pharmacy high and low. Nothing. I couldn’t leave the pharmacy to check my car because I was the only one left. I couldn’t lock the pharmacy because I didn’t have my keys. I ended up calling one of my airmen to come back and lock up the pharmacy. As soon as she locked up, we walked out to my car. Sure enough… there it was… only car in the parking lot… lights on, engine running, keys in the ignition. As expected, the doors …

Keystone

Our second snowboarding adventure of the season… Keystone! Last weekend, we met up with my mom and dad during their two and a half week ski adventure through Colorado and Utah (they really are taking advantage of my dad’s retirement… it’s pretty awesome). And it just so happened that Danny’s brother had a work function the same weekend in Texas, so he added a little extra leg to his trip and came up this way for a few days with his boyfriend. We stayed in the River Run Condos and one of the nights had an amazing dinner at the Alpenglow Stube at the top of the mountain (the food was amazing but it was quite an experience… it took 2 gondola rides to get there and it was freezing cold… they even gave us blankets for the ride and slippers to wear once we got in the restaurant). View from the room (icicles!!)… and yes, naturally, at one point in the trip Danny and his brother tore off a few and had a sword …

Intention

I made a small quilt for the BDAR auction in November, but at that time I hadn’t really looked into the skills and such required for quilting. So back in December when I was making a list of things I wanted to do in the new year… I joined a block of the month (or “BOM” as it’s called) club to help myself create a full size quilt this year. It’s the Sugar Block Club from Amy Gibson. Along with the directions for each monthly quilt square, she goes “beyond the block” and sends out a recipe and a personal challenge. January’s personal challenge: “Be…Intentional”. I really like this challenge. Although I can’t relate to the strong underlying religious/spiritual aspects of it based on her email, I do respect that is where she’s coming from and plan to take my own spin on it. My goal/intention list is an ongoing process, but I’ve been trying to add very specific and realistic aspects to each goal on my list so that I can accomplish them with intention. …

Stolen Email / Facebook Spam / My New Archenemy

For well over a year now, some girl has had her Facebook account set up under my email address. I didn’t know it until recently because I don’t use that email anymore – but, I had to go in there for something the other day and found hundreds… no, thousands… of email notifications from Facebook saying so-and-so said such-and-such about “my” photos and “my” comments, etc. I searched and searched for a solution. It seems tons of other people have had the same thing happen and there’s not much anyone has found you can do about it. Here is Facebook’s solution to my problem: Option 1: “Unsubscribe”  using the link at the bottom of any of those emails. OK, sure… because that’s going to solve my problem. Maybe I won’t receive the pesky emails anymore but my email will still be connected to some random girl’s account. Thanks, Facebook. Option 2: Add the email address to your account So the idea behind this one is that you add the email to your account so it …
