C is for C. Wonder Seamed Stripes Swing Tee

Hello hello! Welcome to the third installment of my self-imposed A to Z Brand Inspiration Challenge! I’m actually super excited about this make! It’s probably the most well-fitting thing I’ve made yet. Yes, it’s only a t-shirt, but it’s really comfortable and it has a great shape and length. I credit the pattern (see below!). Here was my inspiration: C. Wonder – Seamed Stripes Boxy Tee Theirs: $78 (now out of stock)   Mine: $14 (and I have plenty of fabric leftover for another project) I got 2 yards of this Two Sided Cotton Jersey from Girl Charlee at the same time I got my KnitFix last month. I’d been looking for a good stripe knit for this project for a while and this one worked out perfectly. I love the heavier weight and it has the perfect amount of stretch. I was trying not to worry too much about matching the stripes at the seams, but it actually worked out and I love so much that it did! Don’t mind the hair… I shed… the puppies shed… …

Sunday Sew Love: 18 January

Is it really more than halfway through January already!? Phew. I’m loving all of these beautiful neutrals. Polka dots, stripes, lace and animal prints count as neutrals, right? :) (top/left) House of Pinheiro Walk on the Wild Side | (top/right) Poppykettle Back to Basics Dress (bottom/left) Makery Refashion Cardi | (bottom/right) Two Random Words Oakridge Blouse Have a great week! I’m hoping to get my car back this week… it’s been in the shop for over 2 weeks now and they keep saying it’s going to be a little bit longer, then a little bit longer :/ At this point, I’m not holding my breath… Until next time,

DIY Headboard Full of Memories

I came across this post about DIY headboards the other day and decided I need to share another. I wish I could take credit for this one but it was absolutely 100% my mom. A little while back, our county suffered a really bad storm. It hit the worst over near what was my Grandma’s house – now my Uncle’s house. They live right on the lake, and the pier was torn apart. So was the roof of the house… and the fence… and trees were strewn everywhere. I didn’t actually see the worst of it, but I saw everything after it was cleaned up and there was just a weird sense of calm. Like something was missing. Here was the pier before the storm:   Actually, way back in the day, there was a lot more to it. Where those ducks are standing there was another entire section. But of course life has happened… other storms have come though… it’s changed and adapted over the years. This pier has seen a lot. My cousins and …

30 Before 30 Update!

Happy Friday! I survived my first week at the new job and it was awesome. I’m just so glad to be working again. That’s not to say that it went smoothly… there’s definitely going to be a getting-used-to-the-new-surroundings period – but all things considered, I think it went really well. :) So, funny little story. Back in October I applied for a new passport. I even paid the extra $$ for expedited service/shipping because I wanted to make sure I had it before I left Wyoming. I went into the post office, got my official photo taken, filled out all the paperwork, and signed on all the lines. Then I got a letter saying my photo didn’t meet their standards and I needed to send a new one. It’s not like I had taken my own photo… this was the $15 2″x2″ photo from the post office that I had them take to make sure it was correct. But anywhoo, then life got in the way. Moving out… moving in… holidays… you know the drill. …
