Baby Gifts for Sis

Talk about crazy days! Oh my goodness; work is insane. Only 4 weeks left! I’m definitely counting down! :) I got a little teaser trip home last weekend for my sis’s baby shower. Her gifts were so much fun to make… Wee Wee Wigwams! haha… made from this tutorial with leftover fabric from the little hat I made a while back for my little cousin. Animal applique minky blanket. Made using this tutorial. For the animals, I found silhouette images from Google, printed, and traced them onto the orange fabric, then sewed them on. Lastly, a baby basket made from the Noodlehead Divided Basket Pattern. I love this pattern! Her instructions are awesome and detailed and I’ll definitely be making this again. This was another shower curtain project :) Also used this fabric for this clutch and this bag. The blue is some grandma fabric I also used for my mom’s grocery bag.   As always, here’s my adorable little helper: :) Until next time,

Lately I’ve been feeling the holiday season creeping up on us deep in my bones. Is that even possible? I don’t know, but I feel it nonetheless :) And it feels good! And how adorable is the sewing print skirt… love it! :) Lastly, I can’t seem to get enough stripes. You must check out the beautiful engagement photos and Angie’s Emery dress (on the left, photos by Ettevy Photography)… I’m such a sucker for simple, beautiful shots. Speaking of which, I’ve been taking pictures since I was old enough to hold a camera but I’ve never put in a real effort to improve my photography. So, last Saturday I took a class down in Colorado from Bart Levy. (Thanks Living Social for the great deal and helping me learn something… count that as …

September Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix #4 Google Stitch Fix and what do you find!? THIS! It’s crazy! I mean… think of another company that has people constantly advertising for them to this extent. I’m sure there are some…maybe Apple… :/ but either way, I’m constantly impressed by their methods of getting and keeping customers. Maybe it’s the power of referral links and the $25 credit that you get if someone tries Stitch Fix from your link… but personally, I think other peoples’ reviews are half the fun of participating in Stitch Fix. Maybe that’s weird :) But that’s why I decided to post my own reviews, even though it feels uncomfortable sometimes. I also love to look up the items I get to see what other people thought of them. It’s always funny when the items I love the most are the ones other people hate or vice versa. Anywhoo… on to my Stitch Fix advertising! :) Oh, and by the way I really do think Stitch Fix is awesome… I have to admit I am completely on their bandwagon. Mystree Charlie …

Craft Stash

Okay okay… so I’ve always had a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to my craft stash – I realize this. But after seeing this post from Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous, it made me laugh out loud because just the other day I think Danny finally realized the extent of it. He knew I had a lot of yarn and was accumulating a lot of fabric… but earlier this week he went looking for something in the guest room (or what I call my sewing room) :). He came back and said something along the lines of “I didn’t realize you’d filled up every drawer!” Ooops… he caught me ;) haha At least I know I’m not alone… :) Until next time,
