C is for C. Wonder Seamed Stripes Swing Tee

Hello hello! Welcome to the third installment of my self-imposed A to Z Brand Inspiration Challenge! I’m actually super excited about this make! It’s probably the most well-fitting thing I’ve made yet. Yes, it’s only a t-shirt, but it’s really comfortable and it has a great shape and length. I credit the pattern (see below!). Here was my inspiration: C. Wonder – Seamed Stripes Boxy Tee Theirs: $78 (now out of stock)   Mine: $14 (and I have plenty of fabric leftover for another project) I got 2 yards of this Two Sided Cotton Jersey from Girl Charlee at the same time I got my KnitFix last month. I’d been looking for a good stripe knit for this project for a while and this one worked out perfectly. I love the heavier weight and it has the perfect amount of stretch. I was trying not to worry too much about matching the stripes at the seams, but it actually worked out and I love so much that it did! Don’t mind the hair… I shed… the puppies shed… …

Top 5 of 2014

Top 5 Hits! Aztec Sweater | Definitely the most worn, but that could be because I made it in January :) It’s actually a major miss when it comes to construction and what not, but it was self-drafted and only my second me-made garment for myself so I just love it despite all of its flaws! B is for Boden Maya Maxi | I’ve worn this one a few times and still love it. I’m excited to continue this self-imposed brand inspiration sewing challenge in the new year! :) Colors Quiet Book | By far my best and favorite sewn gift of the year! Salme Vegas Blazer | My first outerwear. I foresee this being worn a lot… but we’ll have to wait and see :) Adopt Me Vest Sewing Pattern | Not a sewing make… but it’s my first pattern! I hope it gets used by someone… someday! lol Top 5 Misses! Pants to Shorts Refashion | I love that I made these from Danny’s pants and that they were my first pair of shorts, but …

Salme Vegas Blazer

I downloaded the Salme Cropped Blazer pattern back in June when I made my Minna blouse but didn’t get around to making it till now. The Monthly Stitch outerwear challenge this month was the perfect motivation :) And it was good timing… it was something fun to wear in Vegas! We went for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon this past weekend and had sooo much fun (even though we were sore and hobbling around half the time we were there)!   I found this stretch herringbone suiting fabric when it was on sale at Mood. It reminded me of this one, although there was no way I was going to attempt a lining like she did. :) I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with the mitered corners. I absolutely did mine incorrectly… lol I also did the shoulders incorrectly, but I was having one of those moments. I realized I was just not going to understand the directions no matter how many times I read them over so I just did …

Sunday Sew Love: 24 August

So I collect the urls for this post throughout the week, as things catch my eye. It’s always interesting to see how it turns out each Sunday. I think this week is an indication I need to make some type of silk/flowing/draped top. :) Once I’m done with baby shower sewing… Love these: (top/left) Creative Pixie Grecian Style Top | (top/center) notes from a mad housewife sleeveless archer in silk (top/right) Sew Well Summer of Silk Crepe | (bottom) Skirt as Top Striped Julia Cardigan Until next time,
