So excited! We leave tomorrow night on a red-eye flight for Belize. It’s my first time out of the country (other than Canada or a cruise line) since I studied abroad in 2005… that’s way too long for my liking! :) We’re meeting up with (some of) Danny’s family and staying on one of the little secluded islands off the coast (Ambergris Caye)… apparently some of the best scuba diving in the world. I’m hoping that I get over myself and get brave enough to take a scuba course while I’m there… we’ll see tho :) Also hoping to take an excursion to the mainland to see some Mayan ruins and such. We’ll be there during the Costa Maya Festival, so hopefully it’s not too crazy. Whatever we do, I’m sure it will be amazing!
So my bag has actually been packed since last weekend. I didn’t want to stress myself out, so I planned it out early for once. Normally, it takes me at least 6 hours to pack a bag… and I usually wait until the night before, so you can only imagine how that goes :/
I’m refusing to bring pants… my one pair of capris for the plane will be quite enough. Other than that, I’ll be doing my best to wear as little as socially acceptable (sunshine and beaches, here we come!… or maybe heavy thunderstorms, according to the weather forecast… but that’s ok too… the temperature is still in the 80s!) :)
To do tomorrow: get an oil change in my car, pack Danny’s bags, drop pups off at Red Ruff, charge all of my camera batteries, phone and nook, and clean the house so it can be nice and pretty when we come home all relaxed and not wanting to return to real life. Oh, and maybe go in the morning to help clean the stands… our MedGroup works CFD every year cleaning the stands in the morning (after the concerts/rodeos the night before)… I think they need extra help tomorrow, and I don’t really have a good enough excuse not to go… sooo… one last work bit and then I get to escape for a while! :)
