Creative Sewing Challenge with the Blue Dot Georgia Top!

A little while back, the wonderful Melissa from Mahlica Designs invited me to participate in a Creative Sewing Challenge with Blue Dot Patterns. (Side note: I’ve been loving following along with her Core Wardrobe project… definitely something I’ve thought about doing but haven’t jumped in yet) :) So needless to say, I immediately accepted the challenge! Basically it was to take one of the three Blue Dot patterns — Georgia, Margo, or Dover —  and make it your own. Challenge: accepted! ;) So then came my thought process… I initially chose the Margo blouse. I was thinking something with lace overlay for the holidays or I thought about stealing the plaid fabric I have in my fall sewing plans and going more casual. Idea Board: Bellevue Top

I’m super excited to share that I’m a pattern tester for the new Bellevue top – coming soon from Kimberly at Straight Stitch Designs. It’s my first time as a pattern tester. Although I admit I haven’t made any of her other patterns yet, I love how all of her tops are simple with a twist. The Bellevue top is right along those same lines. It’s the first top I’ve sewn with raglan sleeves, so that’s fun on its own, but with the fabric-mixing and shirt tail hem, I feel like there are endless possibilities.
