I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking the “C” word in September (I’ll say it… Christmas!!!). Lately I’ve been feeling the holiday season creeping up on us deep in my bones. Is that even possible? I don’t know, but I feel it nonetheless :) And it feels good! And how adorable is the sewing print skirt… love it! :) Lastly, I can’t seem to get enough stripes. You must check out the beautiful engagement photos and Angie’s Emery dress (on the left, photos by Ettevy Photography)… I’m such a sucker for simple, beautiful shots.

Speaking of which, I’ve been taking pictures since I was old enough to hold a camera but I’ve never put in a real effort to improve my photography. So, last Saturday I took a class down in Colorado from Bart Levy. (Thanks Living Social for the great deal and helping me learn something… count that as another check on my 30 before 30 list!) :)

If I were staying around the area, I would definitely take another class from him. This was an intro class; most of the terms I was already familiar with, but I can honestly say that I didn’t really, truly understand them until I had the hands on while someone was explaining it to me. I had a lot of “lightbulb!” moments during the class. Plus, I learned what all the buttons on my camera do… finally! :) As far as pictures, we didn’t get to work on any real ones… that’s what his next class is for, but I did take a lot of pictures of my table…

Speaking of photography, my co-worker’s husband just opened up a photography business. He shot the Air Force Ball the other night… everyone looked so nice and his photos turned out great! It was my one and only AF Ball and the one and only time I’ll ever wear my Mess Dress (it’s been sitting in my closet for the past 3 years untouched… I’m just glad it still fit)! Crazy! Speaking of which, Happy Birthday Air Force!
